Maynard Primed Belt percussion revolver, .31 cal., desirable 6” round barrel, blued finish, scroll engraving, wood grips, #NVSN, in overall very good condition showing a dark patina on metal surfaces with scattered pinprick pitting and spots of erosion, considerable original cylinder scene remaining, crisp action, good wood grips showing some wear and scattered old mars and scratches; American eagle and shield clearly engraved on door of Maynard primer with Sept. 22, 1845 date; also known as the “John Brown Model”, approx. 1,000 manufactured between 1851 and 1857.
